Framing has finally Began!

We were so excited to begin the framing part of our journey. We finally got through the masonery part (which we really don't like to do) and now on to what we know how to do. Here Savanna and Lindsey stand in one window and Mikayla stands in another. They are so excited.

2nd pour

This was a really late night for us. We work till the early morning try to get this ready for our final pour of concrete. In the one picture you see the tank for the grinder pump that we have to have for the bathroom downstairs and in the other picture Craig is glueing together pipe that will be buried in the concrete for plumbing. A huge thank you goes out to Craigs best friend Lee Hooks. He came over and helped with this pour. We would have never made it if he wouldn't have come over. Thanks Lee!

Concret Poured

The day finally arrived that we could pour at least half of our basement floor. Thanks to Rick, Rich and Mr. Bill for helping us get that concrete in. It still feels like a dream.

Getting ready to pour concrete floors

In the one photo we had laid down blue board that when wet we extremly slick and the girls had a blast running and sliding on it all evening! We were so excited to be done with the block. Thanks to the help of our family (Jerry and Rick) and friends (Bill Slagle and Tony Hooks).

Keep on working!

The first picture is Craig mixing concrete to continue to lay the blocks. We are getting closer to being done. And the next picture is Craig doing something we did a lot of until we got the back fill done. That was shoveling mud. Oh the memories.

Craig and His Dad (Jerry)

Let me just tell you that if it wasn't for the help that Pap has given to us for our home we would have never gotten to the point where we are at today. People speak of a fathers love but let me tell you I have gotten to see it first hand. Even when no one else was able to help Jerry was here every Saturday. Not because he had to but because he wanted to. We love him more than any words will ever be able to express. We will be able to look at home and know that it was a true labor of love and nothing else.

Who says they're rotten?

We went down to Mr. Bills to take this picture. It was the Saturday before Fathers Day and I always make their proud papa a shirt with them on it. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get everyone looking and smiling at the same time? Lets just say it is impossible. They are our most precious treasures.
